Drifting on Need for Speed Carbon for PS2?

Does anyone have any tips for drifting on need for speed carbon please? i mastered it on the other need for speed games but its completely different this time round and im useless at it! I just swerve down the road hitting the walls and end up with about 4000 points. The three cars i have are the mazda RX8, the ford GT mustang and the lotus elise if that makes a difference. thanks a lot
