Could this be an early miscarriage or just an unusual period? please help! x?

i got my period this morning and went to the toilet in work around lunchtime and seen something in my sanitary towel that i have never seen before! it can only be described as a what looked like a piece of meat! it was kind of round shaped with a long thin tail type piece coming off the end. it was quite big, well enough for me to notice straight away. i felt it and it felt quite thick and fleshy. i am 29 years old and have had many periods and i have never experienced anything like this before. i am trying to conceive and am wondering if this could have been some kind of miscarriage or something. has anybody ever had anything similar or got any suggestions what it might be? thankyou x
