ITALY's 3-0 defeat to BRAZIL coupled with a 3-0 win for the UNITED STATES against EGYPT means that they have been eliminated from the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. they however could still qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup as the FIFA World Cup has its own qualifying format & matches.
