Why are most(not all)Americans so ignorant about Spain and it's peoples?

Many Americans identify all southern europeans(Portugal,Spain,Italy) as "less" White or "racially mixed" simply because all of southern europe is physically located near north Africa.Spain and its peoples(Spaniards,Basques,Galicians)are racially White to the fullest extent of the racial term White we are in NO way "mixed" with Black African! STOP THE IGNORANCE! & GO GET YOURSELF A RACIAL EDUCATION!
